Planning Application
Two Planning Applications have been submitted to Wakefield Metropolitan District Council and are now available for viewing. The first is an outline planning application by UK COAL to redevelop the former pit yard site of the Park Road Prince of Wales Colliery site, Pontefract and adjacent land. This application consists of a Masterplan for a mixed use, urban extension to the town of Pontefract and is accompanied by a separate Planning and Regeneration Support Statement, Environmental Assessment and other supporting reports, details and plans.

The Pit Yard planning application was submitted to Wakefield MDC in outline, with access being available for consideration at this stage.

In preparing the proposals that formed the application, UK COAL continue to take advice from their team of consultants on a range of issues:
  • Spawforths – Planning, Masterplanning, Community Engagement, Architecture and Socio-Economic issues;
  • Whitelaw Turkington – Landscape Architecture;
  • Enviros Consulting Ltd – Water Quality, Drainage, Noise and Vibration; Air Quality and Cultural Heritage;
  • BWB Consulting – Ground Conditions and Contamination;
  • Jacobs – Traffic and Transport and Ecology;
  • DTZ – Commercial Agency, Sequential Testing and Housing Market Assessment; and
  • EDC – Services
